Soooo, this is my quilt block for February. Honestly, it was much harder to aquire the materials than to actually make it. I searched through a bunch of little antique/gift stores to find this lace piece and then I just appliqued it onto a 12 1/2" square. The theme for February is Victorian/Crazy quilt. She wanted lavenders, whites, rose and ecru and for each square to contain some type of lace. March is acutally my month where they will be sending me a square so you will have to wait till I make the quilt to see those photos. It will be the end of April until I post another one (although I have worked ahead through June!! YEAH ME!!!) Happy Leap Year Day!

She will share her day with Vince Vaughn and Reba McIntyre.....

We set the date for Sprout's Birth Day yesterday.... it will be exactly one month from today, 3/28/08. AHHHHH, only 29 days to go!

Raising the next generation of patriots...

We were watching election coverage on the tube the other night...just like every night, I guess. Griffin walks into the room, glances at the t.v. and tells us, "That is OOOHHHBaaaammmaaa...he is our friend."

So, I think it is time for a Sprout update. We've had some tough weeks and I finally feel ready to share it a little bit. In fact, earlier this week, my sister had asked me how the pregnancy was going and I spewed it all out to her in an e-mail. To save myself the emotionally draining task of retelling this story, I am going to just give you an excerpt here of my response to her. "We have about 5 weeks left till the Sprout makes her appearance, and not a minute too soon. I have hit the VERY UNCOMFORTABLE stage of my pregnancy. I had been doing pretty well, embracing the hormone surges, enjoying the quiet of the night when I wake up to her kicking, focusing on the life giving that my body is doing. But now, ugh, I am OVER IT! I think part of it is that we have had some bad news that left me feeling emotionally devastated. [For those that don't know, I've had gestational diabetes with both my pregnancys and I attempt to control the disease through diet, excerise and oral

Last week we had a HUGE ice storm down here. The storm was crazy, it coated everything with a half inch of ice. Since Sprout was keeping me awake with her acrobatics, I sat up and watched the branches crash off the neighbor's magnolia tree as the ice layers built up...quite a site at 3 A.M. The next day though, with the sun shining, it was a sight to behold! This warranted the neighborhood kids getting 3 days off of school! Even our little Valentine's Day Party at the library was cancelled. It's all cool though, we have been suffering through another bought of terrible colds. Griffin actually asked if we could have a pajama day on Wednesday...a sure sign he wasn't feeling well. Things are all melted now and the ground is a huge muddy mess...fun for little boys and dogs, not fun for 8 month pregnant Mamas who have a hard time getting down to wipe mud off boots and paws! I am being forced to ignore the footprints on the kitchen floor - this is a growing edge for me fol
Happy Valentine's Day! Wishing y'all BIG LOVE today...and everyday.
