Well, as I am sure you all are, we are HOT! It seems like most of the world is hot, hot, hot today. Griff and I took to the back yard for a splash. He has his own little land back there: pool, sprinkler, sand box, tricycle and his very own cottage (thanks Grandpa Johnson!!)

It's a Griffin day

It has been a long time since I blogged, I know. We have had so much fun recently with Alexis, Erik and Dominic home and a parade of summertime parties. Bruce is working less, this is his last fleeting moments of fun before he starts the final year of college for his Cardiac Sonography degree. That's right, for those who hadn't heard -- Bruce got in!!!!! I, for one, am so incredibly proud of him. His hard work payed off and now we just have one more year left in our current circumstance. Griffin is doing extraordinary. He is so comunicative, he now gives me directives. "Turn there Mama, BIG TRUCK" (when he sees construction on the road,) "Cute spikey hair Mama" (in response to seeing me post-haircut, which in no way could be considered spikey,) and the ever dreaded "Griffin do it Mama!" He is very physically active and we try to offer him extended excercise opportunities every day. The most fun though, he is developing a long term memory. He remem...

You GOTTA be kidding me!

From an AP story on the yahoo news website: "LONDON - Oil company BP PLC reported Tuesday that net profit rose 30 percent in the second quarter, as soaring world oil prices counterbalanced lower oil and gas output. BP, one of the world's largest oil companies, posted a net profit of $7.3 billion for the three months to June 30, up from $5.6 billion a year earlier." Excuse me while I puke.

The best of days!

Last weekend was an absolutely lovely family time!! We went to Indiana (a 4.5 hr. trip, of which Griffin slept exactly 0 mins.) to visit the Gast, Swank and Frauhiger families. We stopped at Bruce's sister Kelly and her husband Eric's house first. Griffin had a great time playing with his cousins, Bradley, Matthew and Abigail...and Buddy the hamster. There was an air show going on nearby that we enjoyed, although, I enjoyed playing dress-up with Abigail the most!! We headed down to Winona Lake next and watched the fireworks with Pa and Ma Gast. It was a beautiful show, although Griffin was not a happy camper. Much to his dismay, the boom-boom continued despite his pleas of "all done, all done." Over the weekend we spent time on the boat, time with our beloved family, and time to relax. Hope you all had a wonderful holiday also!!!
