News update

Time for an update: Firstly, we had a doctor's apt. this week. Sprout is looking awfully healthy and happy in the ultrasound. We were hoping to be able to know the gender but it turns out Sprout is a little to wee yet to tell. Our next appointment is at the end of November and it should all be clear by then. I am feeling more energetic and only feeling ill about every 3 days (my hormones have gotten into some kind of cycle, I guess). The ultrasound tech. gave us a CD of some pictures and this little video of Sprout. I thought I would share it with you - the colored bits are blood being pumped through the body.

Second on the table: the house. Looks like all the papers are in and our closing will happen on Tuesday. Of course, nothing is definite but we have our fingers crossed. The family who is selling the house to us are saying they should be able to be completely out in 3 days of closing (although, technically, they have up to 15 days from closing) so there is a possibility we will be moving in next weekend!!!!!!!!!!!! YEAH!!!!! So, if you have a few extra calories you'd like to burn and happen to find yourself in Western Kentucky in the next few weeks, feel free to stop by...I am sure we have some boxes you could help move.

Lastly: Halloween. It was fantastic for Griffin. Last Thursday, the hospital that Bruce works at hosted a trick-or-treat event for all the children of employees. Each department set up a little booth and the kids paraded around the hospital and collected candy. Griffin thought it was great - his favorite part was guessing what all the other kids were dressed as. Yesterday, our local library hosted a Halloween parade around the town square in the afternoon. All the local merchants and government offices (we live in the county seat) turned out to pass out candy. It was 72 and sunny and couldn't be a more well organized event - we had a blast! Then last night, in leau of yet another round of trick-or-treating/candy collecting we attended a Halloween Fair that was hosted by a local church. They brought in a carnival and made all the rides free for the night. Many of the kids wore their costumes and it was a fantastic community event. There were hundreds of families there and it felt good to be apart of the crowd. Griffin LOVED the rides and we loved that he was able to do activities instead of collecting more candy that we wouldn't let him eat anyways!! His favorite part was "driving" the firetruck that the local fire dept. brought -- they, of course, loved him, as he is a kindred spirit. I will admit though, we haven't been TOTAL grinches - He is allowed to enjoy 1 lollipop a day (his favorite) until they are all gone (well, if he naps that is....nothing is free in life, right?!?).

This weekend we are headed up to Bruce's parents house - we are bringing Sunshine back with us. We can't bare to be separated from her any longer and now that the house is looking like a reality.........

I still have a ton of great photos from last weekend that I want to post so I will try to get that done tommorrow!

P.S. Since I wrote this post, our realtor called, they want to close on MONDAY!! WOOHOOO!

Can you email me that photo of Griff with his costume by the blue wall? I want to make a copy for Jake to hang in his room to remember his buddy. He's a perfect fireman. I'm sure he had all the firefighters grinning with all the cute things he says and does.

I'm happy to hear that you were able to include yourselves in community events at the hospital and church during Halloween. Did you develop some friendships with other families. It can get lonely down there if you don't have anyone to speak with or hang out with.

Good luck with the upcoming closing and move. Don't over work yourself, maybe you can be on unpacking duty and not lifting duty when the move happens. Is anyone coming to help you with it (your Dad?)

Loved, loved, loved seeing the video of Sprout. You are so lucky to get it on DVD. I'm jealous. The little one is precious.

Have a great trip to Bruce's parents this weekend. Sunshine is going to be one HAPPY doggy to see her beloved family again. Griff will have so much to tell her about the new town and house.

Love ya guys,
Chanley
