Cape Cod VI: Piercings by The Bearded Lady

Image
Sooooo, I got my nose (re) pierced while on vacation. I actually had it done by the AHHHHMAZING Bearded Lady of Provincetown . I had heard about her skillz and fame when I had been there last summer. She is kind of a celebrity around town and last summer Sara and I saw her walking down the street with her sweet doggie, Peg, and nearly crashed the car out of excitement. We would not have been as excited if Lady Gaga had been walking down the street, I think. The Lady was a riot, fun and full of attitude. I don't think she liked us so much at first, she was a tough nut to crack, but by the end I think she loved us right back! Leo and Bruce did a great job of watching the shop and playing with Peg while Sara videoed me. Here are the videos. I will warn you, they do show me getting pierced. There is no blood, but it still might not be something you want burned in your brain. You've been warned. I wanted my nose pierced for so many reasons. First, I love the way it looks, it makes...

Full Moon Rising

Image
One of the most incredible times we had on vacation was the night of the full moon when we went down to the beach to watch the sun set, moon rise and have a bonfire. The kids had a great time and were perfect until 10:30!! We were amazed. The beach offers them seemingly endless amusement. Lottie also loved the beach! She loves to dig and relished the ability to do it anytime, anywhere. She also made several pals on the dog-friendly beach. Here she is playing with a puppy very similar in look and size with her. This was such a great week to socialize her with so many new people, animals and circumstances. She is growing up to be a fantastic dog! Granny, Alethia and Lucy Sara and Anthony The tribe Still in love....

Gone Fishin'

We just had an amazing visit from Sara and Leo. We enjoyed plenty of adult time at night, but during the day the kids took full advantage. I was so impressed and thankful for the way Sara and Leo put the time and attention and love into really connecting with our kids. Griffin recruited Uncle Leo into MANY sessions of Star Wars on the wii. When not playing wii, Griffin thought Uncle Leo was his personal jungle gym! He could not get enough of having his Auntie and Uncle around and started crying on Wednesday and the IDEA of them leaving the next day. Lucy kept ASKING (I know, amazing, right?!?!) Auntie Sara to play in her room with her. In fact, when they left yesterday she was so tore up about it. She wouldn't look at them or hug them when they were getting in the car. As they pulled out she started crying so hard she couldn't breathe, she totally fell apart. She really LOVES them. It is sweet to see! Now I am trying to throw things together for a four day camping trip. W...

Just a bunch of monkeys

Image
Thanks Uncle Leo and Auntie Sara for our favorite buddies!! Griffin was kind enough to think on his own that Lucy should have monkey Auntie since he has monkey Uncle already!! We have been busy here at the Gast house...doing what, I am not quite sure. Bruce was on call all weekend and was called in twice a day all 3 days so that made it tough on all of us. We have a few projects in the works. Bruce and Griffin are building a sandbox. It has been slow going because it is so darn hot and buggy down here, there have not been many good working outside days. Our other project is Griff's bedroom. We are removing the football helmet border and painting a stripe just like we did in Lucy's room. I think it will look cool and tie the rooms together a bit - even though the colors are so different. Every spare minute I have, I have been sewing. I am working on a cute project for Lucy's room, some Christmas presents, items to sell at a craft fair and of course quilt blocks. So, that is...
