I can't believe we've arrived here...I can't believe I am old enough to have a 20 year old son! He is a full grown adult and absolutely living life his own way, on his own terms and doing it quite well. Griffin is living in a small town in Germany with his girlfriend and 2 cats. He is currently in a nursing program that also allows him to work in their local hospital (his school/work life is completely in German!) He's been able to spend some time traveling around Germany, exploring his community, and forming lovely connections with his girlfriend's family. While we miss him so very much, we are so proud of him and the way he is making it happen. And of course, hoping for a visit very soon! Happy Birthday, Griffin. We love you! Our dear girl is 17 today. What an incredible year it has been! She started last summer by going to stay at Berea College for a 3-day leadership conference that she had been selected to attend by her high school. She made some new friends, had some adventures and learned some truly crazy cheers (OUTSTANDING!!!!). After a great summer on the beaches of Cape Cod with our family, she transitioned to preparing to leave for her junior year at the Gatton Academy on the campus of Western Kentucky University. From our perspective, this school year has been an incredible opportunity for Lucy. She has learned how to live peacefully with her (previously unknown) roommate in a tiny dorm room. She has excelled at university level scholarly pursuits, earning her way on the President's list her first semester. She's made a tight group of lovely, interesting new friends and nurtured the bonds with old ones. She's been able to go on several college tours and we ...
My sweet baby girl is 3 today. What an amazing 3 years we've had with her. She is so happy, so sweet, super silly and loving. Her smile lights up my heart, her giggle is the most beautiful music to my ears, her artwork is more stunning to my eyes than any piece hanging in the Louvre. I love how she plays in her room alone, constantly babbling away and singing silly made-up songs. I love how she loves to play outside for hours but cries at the end of the day because of her dirty hands. I love how much she loves her friends and looks forward to seeing them. I love being her favorite person, her port in the storm, her anchor. I love her passion for creating art, for animals, for books and for her beloved brother. I love her sense of humor and comedic timing. Parenting her is such a gift, so rewarding, so challenging, always keeping me on my growing edge. and without further ado....
